Recycled Products

The concept of recycling soils, brick, concrete and stone from the importation of construction and demolition waste, and by segregating, recycling or treating we are able to regain and reuse the constituent elements of these previously land filled resources.

Our recycled materials have gained wide acceptance, in large part, because of our dedication to quality control and our attention to gradation and consistency. The UK is fortunate in having an abundant supply of primary aggregates that can be sourced from numerous sites, however, there is growing pressure on the industry to move towards more sustainable construction methods and reduce the consumption of primary aggregates by switching to recycled or secondary aggregates.

Increasingly, owners, developers, government agencies, architects and engineers are taking the initiative to specify the use recycled materials in the construction of buildings and other infrastructure projects. Our recycled aggregates can play an important part in supporting these environmental initiatives and have considerable sustainable and economic advantages

When producing the aggregates through either our washing plant or by dry screening and crushing, we follow the WRAP Protocol Guidelines, all of our products are regularly tested to ensure they meet the standards required and are a suitable, environmentally friendly alternative to primary products.

All testing is carried out independently and in accordance with the requirements of the protocol.

We consider ourselves to be at the forefront of the Construction Recycling Industry, capable of fulfilling any enquiry offering a comprehensive range of aggregates & landscaping products.

Our materials are already being used by major construction companies and builders for house building, road and rail works, drainage, landscaping and garden design.

We can supply your project with a wide variety of recycled aggregates. All materials are available either for collection from our premises in Rumney, Cardiff, or in bulk delivery by our modern fleet of 8 wheel tippers

Soils & Clays

Soils – Residential

Supplying an ‘as dug’ or unscreened topsoil for residential use, usually as stripped from local green field sites prior to development and as such may contain small quantities of other organics such as grass.  A good, general purpose topsoil suitable for general planting and as a preparation layer used under turf.

Soils – Commercial

Our commercial soil is a recycled product typically consisting of screened sub soils, top soils and other enhancers.

Sub Soils

Subsoil is found under the initial layer of topsoil, like topsoil it is composed of a variable mixture of small particles of sand, silt, and soil but lacks the organic matter and humus content of topsoil.  Our recycled sub soil is typically 40mm down and is ideal for land raising, filling voids or commercial landscaping, topped off with a layer of topsoil.  Sub soils can be blended for your particular requirements with the addition of sands, composts or other minerals, please contact us for further details.

Puddling Clay

A naturally occurring homogeneous impermeable product that is free from sand, stone and organic matter.  It has exceptional water resisting characteristics and can be easily worked and compacted and is typically used to form the linings of ponds, canals and rivers, or for the capping of landfill cells.  The material is supplied already hydrated and ready to use.

A single sized material, crushed, washed and screened to remove dust and fines; commonly used in concrete block manufacture, pipe bedding and other drainage applications

20mm Clean Stone

A single sized material, crushed, washed and screened to remove dust and fines; commonly used in ready-mix concrete, pipe bedding and other drainage applications

40mm (Type B) Clean Stone

A single size aggregate for use in simple sub soil drainage systems, general filtering applications and pipe bedding

80mm Clean Stone

Produced from crushed and screened concrete and brick from demolition and other construction projects.  Typically used for temporary site infrastructure such as haul roads, large diameter pipe backfill and land drainageA single size aggregate for use in simple sub soil drainage systems, general filtering applications and pipe bedding

Type 1/ Scalpings/ Sub Base

A blended material typically 40mm down to dust which consists of crushed concrete and brick.  It retains good compaction qualities and is ideal for sub bases of general infrastructure such as car parks, pavements and patios

6F2

Usually a by product of demolition projects and typically 75mm down to dust.  It is a good general purpose aggregate that is general used as a sub base for heavier civils projects such as roads and buildings; Its size also makes it ideal for use in piling mats and general backfill applications.  6F2 is ideal as an initial layer of hardcore before being finished off with a layer of Type 1.
